MATRICE 600

The Matrice 600 drone (unmanned aerial vehicle "UAV") is a new flying platform designed for use by professional filmmakers and photographers. The Matrice 600 is the largest in our fleet. Gamayun Media has two identical Matrice drones, giving us a full backup drone on the set.  The Matrices drones are designed to carry large cameras, such as the Hasselblad A5D and Red Epic, with ease. The Matrice 600 drones have been in our operation since May 2017, and have completed dozens of flights with a perfect safety record. 

RELIABILITY

The Matrice 600 is built to take professional quality aerial photos and videos. It also has the potential to fulfil a varied range of other commercial applications for government, military and public safety agencies. The Matrice is built to integrate with new hardware such as the gimbal stabilizer Ronin-MX and the Lightbridge 2 transmission system (which is capable of streaming 1080p at 60 fps from distances of up to five kilometres). While clearly aimed towards photographers and cinematographers, the Matrice 600 solid functionality is also something that would benefit industrial clients looking to take on risky work such as surveying large structures and the maintenance of utility companies' installations.

INTELLIGENT DESIGN

The Matrice 600 modular design makes it a breeze to set up and it can be ready to use in minutes. This ease of use does not affect reliability, however, as dust proof propulsion systems streamline maintenance and actively cooled motors enable reliable operation over longer flight times. Proving itself to be efficient whatever the intended use is, the Matrice 600 comes with six Intelligent Batteries to maximize its flight time. There is also a customized power management system which allows all six batteries to be turned on and off at the push of a button while keeping the system up in the air, should a single battery fail.

FLY SAFE, FLY LONGER

The Matrice 600 uses sine-wave driven, intelligent ESCs to ensure it performs accurately, safely and efficiently while the A3 flight controller’s self-adaptive flight systems adjust flight parameters automatically based on different payloads. The Matrice 600 works with high-end Zenmuse camera line. Carrying one of these lighter camera units, the Matrice 600 can stay in the air for about 35 minutes.

VIDEO STABILITY

The Matrice 600 offers some of the best video stabilization in the industry for Red Epic and Hasselblad cameras. Regardless of wind conditions, the Matrice 600 can fly with up to 50mm focal length lenses without the need for post-production stabilization.  In our operations, we use popular stabilizers such as the Osmo and Ronin.

VIDEO TRANSMISSION

The Matrice transmits a 1080p feed up to 1000m (line of sight) to three different receivers - (1) UAV pilot;  (2) UAV camera operator; and  (3) Video village.

FLIGHT TIMES

Typical flight times with a Red Epic or Hasselblad A5D cameras are 6 - 16 minutes.  Typical flight times with a Zenmuse cameras are 30 - 35 minutes. After a flight, the Matrice 600 can be back up in the air in as little as three minutes.  The Matrice 600 can come with 10 sets of batteries and high speed charging on the set is possible for even more flights if more than 10 flights are necessary for a given project.

WEATHER LIMITATIONS

The Matrice can handle sustained winds up to 30 - 35km/h (and gusts up to 50km/h). Depending on the environment of the location, sometimes these limits may be lowered at the discretion of the UAV pilot (flying around tall structures in particular).  The Matrice 600 is capable to fly in light rain and light snow.

CAMERAS

The Matrice 600 is designed to carry DSLR size photo cameras such as the Nikon D5 and larger processional movie making cameras such as Hasselblad, Red Epic and Alexa Mini.

INSPIRE 2

Inspire 2 is taking aerial photography and vedeography to a new level. The Inspire 2 drone incorporates a new CineCore 2.0 image processing system that is capable of recording 5.2K video in Adobe CinemaDNG, Apple ProRes, and other formats. CineCore 2.0 is built into the aircraft nose and works with any camera - for example, a Zenmuse X4S or X5S - connected through the gimbal port. The Inspire 2 is a great tool for complex tracking shots with minimal equipment. With retracting landing gear, the Inspire 2 can be flown with two operators (UAV pilot and camera operator) allowing for a shots in very challenging flying environment. The Inspire 2 and its equipment neatly fit in one carrying case allowing much easier transportation than the Matrice 600 drones for difficult to access or risky project locations.

SENSE & AVOID

The forward and downward vision systems allow Inspire 2 to detect obstacles up to 30 meters ahead. This allows protected flight at speeds up to 54 kph at a controllable attitude angle of 25 degrees. For added protection when flying indoors, there are upward-facing infrared sensors that scan obstacles up to 5 meters above the drone. Obstacle sensing systems are active during normal flight, RTH, and all Intelligent Flight Modes. These sensors are core components of the DJI FlightAutonomy system, which provides a full range of intelligent capabilities such as obstacle avoidance, upward obstacle avoidance, accurate indoor hovering and positioning, automatic obstacle avoidance during RTH, and terrain detection.

POWER FLIGHT PERFORMANCE

A new propulsion system optimized for power delivers excellent flight performance. The Inspire 2 flies at speeds up to 94 kph, descends at 9 m/s, and climbs at 6 m/s. It can accelerate from 0 to 94 kph in just 5 seconds and flies at with maximum altitude angle of 40 degrees. The two controller sticks are tuned for more sensitivity, making delicate maneuvers easier.

INTELLIGENT FLIGHT MODES

Spotlight Pro is a powerful tracking mode that allows even to a single pilot to capture complex, dramatic images. It uses advanced visual tracking algorithms to lock onto a subject during flight, regardless of the direction that the Inspire 2 flies, creating shots that would once have required a dedicated camera operator. If the gimbal comes close to reaching its rotation limits, the Inspire 2 itself will rotate in the same direction without affecting flight control or the shot being captured to free up gimbal movement. A range of other intelligent flight and shooting modes are available in addition to Spotlight Pro.

VIDEO STABILITY

The Inspire 2 offers some of the best video stabilization for X5 and X7 cameras in the industry. Regardless of wind conditions, the Inspire 2 can fly up to 30mm lenses without the need for post-stabilization.

PHANTOM 4 PRO

The Phantom 4 is all about efficiency. Its small size and weight allows it to hover in the air without drawing attention of spectators in the area. It features a built in 4k camera that allows manual control over the camera from the ground station. The Phantom 4 is extremely portable and it great for maximizing limited shooting time with virtually no setup time.
